A habit tracker app to build the lifestyle you want

Bemelio is a free app, the social network for goals, where you turn a good intention into a clear goal. You tick off your daily habits, watch your streak grow and post updates as you go. And you can do it alongside people working on the same kind of change.

How does Bemelio help you build better habits?

Bemelio works around one idea: a habit gets easier when it becomes a real goal. You pick the Lifestyle category, then a subcategory. In each one, the app suggests example goals, so you never start from a blank page. You give your goal a title in your own words and choose whether it is public or private. That takes a minute, and you have a clear starting point.

Then the goal becomes part of your day. You tick off your habits, watch your streak and post updates when something moves forward. An update can be a few words, a photo or a video. Put together, your updates tell the story of your goal from the first day onwards. When motivation dips, scrolling back through that story reminds you why you started.

  • Habits: small daily actions, from early alarms to tidying up
  • Minimalism & Organisation: decluttering and a calmer home
  • Productivity: focused work and fewer distractions
  • Morning routine: a start to the day you choose
  • Digital detox: less screen time, more presence

How do you track your progress on a new routine?

Start by breaking your goal into steps you can tick off. A goal like decluttering your home becomes the wardrobe, then the kitchen, then the garage. Each ticked step is visible progress, and you always know what comes next. It also keeps a big change from feeling like one huge, vague task.

Depending on the subcategory, your goal comes with built-in tracking tools. The Habits tool lets you tick off your habits for the day. The Streak tool lets you mark each day you moved forward and see the run of days grow. In the Morning routine subcategory, a session timer lets you time each session and keep a history.

Many of these tools offer a Post as update option, which adds a card with your real numbers to your goal. Your progress is then based on what you actually did, not on a feeling. You decide when to share it, and you can keep tracking quietly for as long as you like.

Why work on your habits with other people?

Building a habit alone can feel like nobody notices. On Bemelio, you follow people and see their updates in your feed. You can react, comment and cheer them on, and they can do the same for you. Circles bring together people heading in the same direction, such as those working on a slower morning or a lighter phone habit. Private messaging lets you talk one to one.

You can also share a goal with someone else, who becomes its co-author. Picture two flatmates decluttering the same flat, or a couple going phone-free in bed: both of you post updates on the same goal. When you are proud of an update, you can turn it into a visual to share as a story, on Instagram for example, with a link to your Bemelio profile.

Prefer to keep things to yourself? Set your goal to private. You still get the steps, updates and tracking tools, without an audience. The Discover section also features experts, such as coaches and specialists, and events if you want to go further.

  • Follow people and see their updates in your feed
  • Join circles of people with similar goals
  • Invite someone as co-author of a goal
  • Share an update as a story with a link to your profile

A simple method to make a habit stick

Start smaller than you think. A goal you can do on a busy day is a goal you can keep. Rather than overhauling your whole morning at once, pick one action, like getting up at the same time or leaving your phone outside the bedroom. Once it feels normal, add the next piece. Breaking a big change into steps keeps it within reach.

Aim for regularity, not intensity. Ten minutes of tidying most days can do more for your home than one exhausting weekend. Attach the new habit to something you already do, such as after your coffee or before you open your laptop. And plan for the days you miss: one missed day is not a failure, simply pick up again the next morning.

Measure what you do, then adjust. Ticking off the day and posting a short update every so often gives you a record you can look back on. If a habit keeps slipping, make it smaller or move it to another moment rather than giving up. You know your life better than any plan does.

  • Write your goal in one clear sentence
  • Break it into small, concrete steps
  • Link the habit to a moment you already have
  • Track every day, even the short ones
  • Review your updates and adjust the plan

Frequently asked questions

Is Bemelio free?

Yes. Bemelio is free to download and free to use, on iPhone through the App Store and on Android through Google Play. You can create your lifestyle goals, use the tracking tools, post updates and follow other people without paying anything.

Is my goal visible to everyone?

Only if you want it to be. When you create a goal, you choose whether it is public or private. A private goal stays yours: you still have steps, updates and tracking tools, without sharing them. A public goal can be seen and encouraged by others.

Which lifestyle goals can I set on Bemelio?

The Lifestyle category covers five subcategories: Habits, Minimalism & Organisation, Productivity, Morning routine and Digital detox. Each one suggests example goals, like waking up earlier, tidying a little every day or keeping your phone out of bed. You can also write your own title.

Isn't it odd to use a phone app for a digital detox?

It is a fair question. On a digital detox goal, the app is there to help you track the habit, not to keep you scrolling. You can tick off your day with the Habits or Streak tool, post a short update when you want to, then put the phone down.

Can I work on a habit with a friend or partner?

Yes. You can share a goal with another person, who becomes its co-author. You both post updates on the same goal and follow its progress together. You can also join circles of people heading in the same direction and talk privately through messaging.

Do I need to post every day?

No. You post an update whenever something moves forward, at your own pace. Many people simply tick off their day with the Habits or Streak tool and post an update now and then. What matters is that the record stays honest and useful to you.
