A learning goal tracker app that keeps you learning, with others
Bemelio is a free mobile app, a social network built around personal goals. You set a learning goal (read more, learn a language, code, play an instrument, pass an exam), break it into steps, track your sessions and share your progress with people who are learning too.
How does Bemelio help you reach your learning goals?
Bemelio is a free app for iPhone and Android. To start a learning goal, you pick the Learning category, then a subcategory: reading, languages, coding, music, exams and certifications, training and career change, or driving licence. The app suggests example goals to inspire you. You give your goal a title in your own words and choose whether it is public or private.
From there, your goal becomes the place where your learning lives. You break it into steps, log your sessions with the tracking tools built for your subcategory, and post an update each time you move forward. People who follow you can react and comment. Over time, your updates tell the whole story of what you learned, from the very first session to the finish line.
- Choose a subcategory that fits what you want to learn
- Give your goal a clear title
- Keep it public or private, your choice
- Track sessions and post updates as you go
How do you track your learning progress?
Start with steps. A big goal like learning to code feels lighter once it is split into steps you can tick off: the basics, your first script, your first small project. Each ticked step is visible proof that you are moving, even when the end still looks far away.
Then use the tools that come with your subcategory. A streak lets you tick every day you made progress and watch it grow. A session timer records each study or practice session and keeps the history. Reading goals track books read, books to read and pages. Language goals log sessions, vocabulary and level. Music goals log practice and repertoire. Exam goals organise revision by subject, with a countdown to the exam.
Finally, post updates. Text, a photo or a video: a page of notes, a short clip of the song you can now play, a screenshot of your first working code. Many tools let you post your real numbers as an update card, so your progress speaks for itself.
Why learn alongside other people?
Learning alone often means nobody notices when you skip a week. On Bemelio, you follow people and see their updates in your feed. You react, you comment, and they do the same for you. Seeing someone else finish a chapter or nail a tricky chord can be the nudge you need to open your own book or pick up your own instrument.
Circles bring together people heading in the same direction, like those learning the same language or preparing for the same kind of exam. Messaging lets you talk in private when you want to ask a question or swap tips. And with a co-goal, you can share a goal with a friend, who becomes its co-author: a study partner, built right into the app.
When you are proud of a milestone, you can turn an update into a visual to share as a story, on Instagram for example, with a link to your Bemelio profile. The app also lets you discover experts, such as coaches and specialists, and events.
- Follow people and see their updates in your feed
- Join circles of people with similar goals
- Message others in private
- Share a goal with a co-author
- Share an update as a story
A simple method to keep learning over time
Make your goal concrete. Learning Spanish is a direction. Practising 15 minutes a day, or finishing a beginner course, is something you can actually do and check. Then cut it into small steps. Each step should be clear enough that you know exactly what to do in your next session, without having to think about it.
Aim for regularity rather than intensity. For many people, a short session they actually do works better than a long one they keep postponing. Pick a fixed moment in your day, keep your book or instrument within reach, and let your streak show you each day you showed up. If you miss a day, simply start again the next one.
Look back regularly. Scroll through your updates and your session history: what you could not do at the start often feels easy now. That view helps you adjust your pace, raise the bar a little, or slow down if you are tired. Your progress is yours, at your own rhythm.
- Turn a wish into a clear, checkable goal
- Split it into small steps
- Practise at the same moment each day
- Restart right away after a missed day
- Review your updates to adjust your pace

Frequently asked questions
Is Bemelio free?
Yes. Bemelio is free to download and free to use, on iPhone through the App Store and on Android through Google Play. You can create your learning goals, use the tracking tools, post updates and connect with other people without paying anything.
Is my goal visible to everyone?
Only if you want it to be. When you create a goal, you choose whether it is public or private. A public goal and its updates can be seen by others, who can react and comment. A private goal stays yours, which is handy if you prefer to learn quietly before sharing.
Can I actually learn a language or coding inside Bemelio?
Bemelio offers interactive language lessons in English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese, and interactive lessons and exercises for Python, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and SQL. Alongside them, you track your sessions and share your progress. You can also keep using any course, book or teacher you already rely on.
How can I keep track of my exam revision?
Create a goal in the exams and certifications subcategory. You can organise your revision by subject, follow a countdown to the exam, time each study session and keep a streak of the days you revised. Steps help you split the syllabus into chunks you can tick off.
Can I learn with a friend?
Yes. A goal can be shared with another person, who becomes its co-author. You both follow the same goal and can post updates on it. You can also join circles of people with similar learning goals and use private messaging to exchange tips or keep each other going.
